Marsons Solicitors LLP is a leading law firm in the South East and we are always looking for good people to join us.
We have the Investors in People award and were last assessed in November 2008. The assessment included confidential interviews with members of staff about the Firm's commitment to its staff and their training and development.
The Investors in People Report by Roger Wallace is dated 27th November, 2008

" I found in my interviews, that regardless of job title or role, everyone knew the values of Marsons and the ways of working in the company. There is a keen focus on providing the client with a quality service. It is also a service that ensures that client satisfaction is at the forefront of the client relationship."
"Staff have a clear and direct focus on providing a quality service to their clients."
During the interviews people also spoke about how much that they enjoyed working for Marsons.
"Part of this enjoyment comes from the culture that has been developed; the ways that the Senior Partners and managers work with their staff and the mutual respect in place regardless of your role."
People had the view that - "This is not a stuffy law firm."
All of those people interviewed had a sound understanding of what their learning and development means to them in their role(s) in the firm.
Many people spoke about their understanding of - "what the marketing of Marsons means to me and all of us. It's about not only doing a good job for the client but also to look at the wider context. How do we improve what we offer to the client and how do we build further on this? We want to be a service that the client will return to. A legal firm with a face, that's what we are.'
A clear point coming out of the interviews was around the value of the appraisals and supervisions that people experience, and the outcomes from those meetings.
This was particularly the case in the examples from people who had worked in other organisations and could make a quantifiable comparison between their previous experience and their Marsons experience - e.g. "At my other firm it was just a waste of time. Managers were either too busy or not interested, it was something the Partners wanted them to do but nobody really knew why they were doing it or were bothered in the end."
The experience in Marsons is the direct opposite of the experience noted above. The experience in Marsons was a positive one in the way that the appraisals / supervisions are - "all about me. We spend time together and look at how things have gone and what could my manager do to help out. We also talk about my future and that's linked into the direction of the business." This was a typical view and experience within the sample frame.
We currently have no vacancies but we are always looking for self motivated and committed people and we are always delighted to receive details from legal support staff or professional staff who can demonstrate ability and commitment.
Teams with specialists and a following in areas such as social housing, commercial property and other areas of our business are invited to apply.
