Our Social Housing Department has an excellent reputation
within its sector, currently holding a position as one
of the top law firms handling tenancy management litigation
and advice for numerous Registered Social Landlords and
some Local Authorities. The team has again been singled
out for recognition in the Chambers Guide to the legal
profession - "a team with acknowledged strengths
in housing management work".
Our highly experienced team specialises in all aspects
of tenancy and leasehold management and litigation with
particular emphasis on anti-social behaviour/nuisance.
The team also pursues possession proceedings in connection
with regeneration and development, rent and service charge
arrears, illegal sub-letting, squatters and unauthorised
occupiers, and defends disrepair claims, on behalf of
its clients. In addition, team members advise clients
on general tenancy and leasehold management and policy
matters.
In keeping with the way we work in other areas, we strive
to understand fully our clients' changing needs bringing
commercial acumen and a social ethos to housing problems,
consistently seeking to achieve solutions in a speedy
and cost effective manner.
As well as dealing with matters when things have gone
wrong, we work closely with our clients to keep them up
to date with the law and practice to assist them in conducting
their functions with full regard to the legal environment
in which they operate, thereby reducing the likelihood
of subsequent litigation.
