2017 New Year resolutions – Do your employees have employment contracts?
    January 23, 2017

It is important to make sure that employees sign up to an employment contract. This also includes any directors and business partners if they are also employees of the business.

The employment contract will set out all employment conditions, rights, responsibilities and duties. Also employment contracts can contain restrictions should an employee choose to leave the business – this will help protect your business from an outgoing employee setting up competition, poaching staff and/or customers. The lack of such restrictions means that a key member of staff or director will be free to set up in competition with your business after leaving.

Do you think your employment contracts cover all these scenarios? Are they up to date? Call Jennifer White on 020 8313 1300 020 8313 1300 or email jennifer.white@marsons.co.uk for further advice.
